a day in the life of a preschooler...

valet drop-off & pick- up  Yes, we are very fancy.. 😉 Our drop-off and pick-up car line makes it easy for you and your preschooler to transition from home to school. Every day at drop off, your child will be gently greeted at our entrance and escorted from your car by our assistant teaching staff to their class, where they will be warmly welcomed by their teacher.

free play  During the drop off period, children are encouraged to make independent choices in a time of purposeful play at one of our carefully planned out learning centers in their classroom. This time also includes opportunity for children to engage with their peers and teacher, where a spirit of kindness, cooperation and helpfulness is promoted.

circle time  Circle time sets the tone for the day’s schedule. It includes learning the pledge of allegiance, singing songs, working with numbers to set up the calendar, weather observation, letter and number of the week activities. To encourage a sense of responsibility, children take turns doing classroom jobs. This is also when a large portion of teaching time occurs through teacher-directed academics.

table time  New concepts are immediately reinforced as children practice what they’ve just discovered to ensure learning success. Whether it’s through crafts, working with manipulatives or completing a written worksheet, knowledge is absorbed and solidified through age appropriate activities

gross motor play time  We understand that preschooler's aren't built to sit still! So purposeful movement time is included every day for every classroom either on our sizable playground or in our large, carpeted indoor gym.  Motor skills development, coordination and balance are all emphasized through organized games or just plain old cooperative playtime fun for a cohesive learning experience.

snack time Developing good manners and healthy eating habits are not the only aspects of this essential part of our day. Snack time offers
a great opportunity for social interaction while learning self-sufficiency.  The children are encouraged to make choices by trying new foods and also to be a good neighbor by cleaning up after themselves.

bible curriculum Our desire is to "sow seeds of faith" into the hearts of our preschoolers. Connecting God's truths to children's lives through vivid and age appropriate Bible stories sets the foundation of faith for our students.   Each child receives their very own copy of the Bible that we use at school as a gift from us, so parents can re-read the Bible stories at home.

enhancements to our day  We give each child opportunities to flourish through our enhancements. These include Music, Chapel, Smart Boards for expanding learning opportunities and simple Spanish. We also offer optional extra-curricular classes covering S.T.E.A.M. themed topics  (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) as well as optional Tae Kwon Do (Winter) & Soccer (Spring) programs.  These enrichment experiences serve to spark an interest in the world at large, foster creativity and nourish each child’s soul.

going home  With their buckets full from rich interaction with their friends and teachers, it's time to go home- we all meet in the hallway, sing a "goodbye song" and then teachers start bringing the children out to meet their eager parents using the carline.  Teachers are able to touch base with you as to how your child's day went as you buckle them up, and then send you off with a "see you next time!"
"And you shall love the Lord
your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
This is the first commandment.
And the second, like it, is this:
‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:30-31
